The Best Cleaning Products

July 10, 2019

Cleaning products are not all created equal. I have tried so many different cleaning products and I’ve found some I love and some I really dislike. When I choose products, the scent is a huge make or break for me. I have allergies and certain chemical smells give me headaches.

I love keeping my spaces clean. Cleaning is kind of a therapeutic thing for me. I also love a good clean space. When I can, I love using natural, more earth-friendly products as you will see incorporated in this post. However, when it comes to the bathroom and kitchen surfaces, I want to make sure I use something that disinfects.

One thing that is always a cleaning motivator is NEW cleaning products! I always stroll down the cleaning aisle at Target. At the end of this post, I’ve linked all of my favorites.

Disclaimer: When you purchase through my links I do receive a small commission. Thank You for supporting Cierra Robin Blogs!

Kitchen

When I clean, I usually start in the kitchen. I feel like this motivates me to keep going. For kitchen cleaning, I always start with the dishes.

Most of the dishes I load into the dishwasher but some pots and pans I hand wash. I have two favorite dish soaps, Method’s Dish Soap, and Palmolive Pure + Clear Dish Soap. These are my favorite because they are a more natural option which is important to me when cleaning dishes we eat out of.

To wash, I use a dish brush from Full Circle (pictured below) or a natural fiber sponge. This dish brush comes with a holder that allows you to put soap in the bottom with some water to create suds. I love it!

I always use disinfectant wipes for the countertops. I usually purchase the knock off version of Lysol wipes from the Target or Walmart brand.

For our stovetop, I love using Weiman’s Glass Cook Top Cleaner. This stuff gets ALL of the burnt food and marks off.

Bathroom

The bathroom is something I clean very often. Most of the products I use in the bathroom are disinfectants. Again, I use a lot of the disinfecting wipes for surfaces but I also love using Windex wipes in the bathroom. Windex wipes are perfect for the bathroom mirror, towel racks, and faucet. I love using the wipes instead of the spray because the wipes never leave lint behind like paper towels or bath towels do.

For surfaces that don’t need strong disinfecting, I use the Method Grapefruit cleaner. This is the best smelling cleaner ever!

Let’s talk about toilet cleaning. I know, not the most glamorous thing. If you take anything away from this post, take this tip. Throw away your toilet bowl brush! How gross is a toilet bowl brush just sitting in the bathroom? First, it’s an eyesore and second, it’s really dirty.

Instead of a toilet brush, I love using the Clorox Toilet Wand. This thing is my favorite because you throw away the head each time. I still like using toilet bowl cleaner because I like to let it sit. My favorite is the cling gel from Lysol. This gel does smell like bleach, but it does not give me a headache like some other ones I’ve tried. I don’t mind using a cleaner with bleach in it on things that I don’t actually touch my body with, like the inside of a toilet. I know fumes aren’tΒ that great for you either, but at least the toilet is disinfected. If you want a more natural option, try Methods toilet bowl cleaner.

Living SpacesΒ

For all other living spaces such as the living room and bedroom, I have several favorite products. I always diffuse essential oils to create a fresh scent. My favorites are lemon, lavender, and thieves essential oil.Β I also create my own carpet freshener with essential oils and baking soda.

My favorite cleaner for surfaces in the living room and bedrooms is Pledge’s multi-surface cleaner. This is a spray cleaner that works on many different surfaces. I find it cleans well and is easy to have one product for multiple surfaces.

For vacuuming, my all-time favorite vacuum is my Dyson Cordless. This vacuum is a splurge but totally worth it. This vacuum is so lightweight and so easy to maneuver with no cord to deal with. The suction on this vacuum is powerful!

I hope this post gave you some cleaning motivation! Below are my favorites that you should give a try!

XOXO,

CR
