Looking for a getaway during quarantine? I know I was. We found the perfect spot to get away from it all and spend some time in the great outdoors.
Welcome to Moab, UT.
We stayed at the Red Cliffs Lodge nestled right outside of Moab, UT. The Red Cliffs Lodge is “on the banks of the Colorado River, surrounded by magnificent 2,000-foot cliffs, the Red Cliffs LodgeโMoabโs National Park Experienceโis truly a hidden treasure of the west. Inside, the lodge features dramatic 20-foot ceilings, natural wood-paneled walls, rustic log furniture, and hand-finished Mexican saltillo tile floors”.
The lodge itself is beautiful inside and out. The views are breathtaking, the pool is refreshing, and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
One of my favorite parts of the lodge was the outdoor patio attached to our room. It was so relaxing to sit on the patio and listen to the birds and river roll. Every morning the horses would be right outside of our patio. The lodge has it’s own stables with beautiful horses that are very friendly.
The location of the lodge is a perfect distance from Arches National Park. Everywhere you turn is another breathtaking view.
We spent a lot of time outside of the lodge, exploring trails, hiking, and discovering new places. We hiked up to Delicate Arch and back, which was the longest hike we did. Not to mention the hottest.
My biggest tip is you need LOTS of water. They say at least a gallon per person. We ran out of water halfway through. Not smart. Luckily, we had more water in the car and our lodge wasn’t far away.
The great thing about Moab is there is something for everyone. You can explore a lot just by driving, but there are endless opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, ATV-ing, and so much more. We did a little bit of it all. We did some hikes and also some drives.
Moab has plenty of knowledgable park rangers that can also steer you in the right direction as far as sights to see, hikes, intensity, and weather.
The Red Cliffs Lodge itself is a perfect spot to kick back and relax by the pool, eat at their delicious diner, and spend time under the stars. So, if you need a vacation now, or anytime, Red Cliffs Lodge is the perfect destination!
