Recently, I’ve been spending more time caring for my hair. I’m currently trying to grow my hair out, and it’s definitely working!
I can’t wait to get my hair done at my salon again, my roots are growing out fast! Before I tell you what products I currently use and love, it’s important to note my hair type. Like skin types, hair differs from person to person!
My hair has several traits:
- Wavy- some natural curls but not totally curly
- Fine- my hair follicles are very thin, not thick
- Color-treated- my blonde hair is not natural, I get it highlighted
- Gets tangled easily
- Not greasy or dry- somewhere in between
So, what do I want my hair products to provide? Well, for one, I want them to not cause damage.
I’m fully aware that highlighting my hair causes damage, so I try to reduce doing more damage to my hair. Using natural products, air drying, limiting days I style my hair with heat tools, and not washing my hair every day are things I do to reduce further damage.
I want my products to combat frizz, my natural hair loves to get frizzy, especially if it’s humid. I also want my hair products to combat brassiness. Since I’m naturally a light brown with red undertones, my hair tends to pull brassy colors easily, which is not what I’m going for.
Some of my favorite haircare brands are Not Your Mother’s Haircare, Aveda, and Aussie. These brands have been my favorite for a while because of their ingredients and the results I have seen.
Now that you know all about my hair and what I’m looking for product-wise, let’s take a look at all of my current favorite products!
As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions, I’m always happy to help! Happy haircare ladies!!
XOXO,
