Happy Monday Friends!
As you may know, I’m a teacher and this week is the last week of the school year for me. It’s so bittersweet. I will say, I am so excited for summer to continue to grow my blog!
Over the weekend, my boyfriend of 8 years and I went to Lake Geneva on a little weekend getaway. We’ve been going to Geneva for the past few years and now it’s pretty much a tradition. We stay at a family friends condo really close to downtown Geneva. If you’re not familiar, Lake Geneva is in WI and also really close to IL.
Lake Geneva is so relaxing and beautiful. The weather was perfect this weekend. If you love lake life, local shopping, good food, and beautiful scenery, you would love Geneva!
We went up on Friday right after work. We love having fish fry so headed straight to dinner at Popeyes on Lake Geneva. Popeyes is right on the lake with indoor and outdoor seating. The fish fry was so delicious. I highly recommend it.
After dinner, we walked along the lakefront before heading into town for some browsing and shopping. The downtown area of Lake Geneva is easy walking, close together, and has a range of shops. One shop we noticed was brand new to downtown, The Candle Mercantile. You can find their website here. This shop ended up being our new favorite.
The Candle Mercantile is a whole experience. You create your own candle by choosing scents you enjoy from a wall full of scents, choosing a candle container, and then smelling, creating, and mixing your own candle! We decided to go for an aromatherapy scent. The three we chose were lavender, morning dew, and patchouli.
I will say, we got home today and immediately lit the candle we created. We love it!
On Saturday, we spent the day lounging by the pool, eating ice cream from Kilwins, and walking by the lake before heading to dinner.
Dinner on Saturday we decided to go to the Grand Geneva Resort for their Prime Rib & Seafood Buffet. The Grand Geneva is a massive resort and hotel that hosts weddings, conferences, spa services, and golfing. We loved the buffet so much I didn’t even get pictures. The spread was amazing. Crab legs, shrimp, potatoes, salad bar, pasta, and desserts. I definitely loved the crab and the desserts.
If your near Illinois or Wisconsin, I would recommend visiting Lake Geneva. There is so much more to do like horseback riding, boating, tours, golfing, and so much more.
XOXO,
CR
