Let me start out by saying, I’m a coffee drinker. I don’t mean here and there I drink coffee, I mean, every, single, day, I drink coffee! Let me also say, I am not a dentist or professional when it comes to teeth. However, I have been through a lot with my teeth. Braces, retainers, spacers, etc. So it’s so important to maintain the hard work I’ve done to have beautiful teeth!
Keeping your teeth sparkling white can be a challenge when you’re a coffee drinker. I’m going to share with you how I keep my teeth as white as they were years ago before I was a religious coffee snob.
So this may sound obvious, but you need to be brushing your teeth two times a day if not more. Food and drinks stain your teeth! If you let them sit on your teeth overnight, that alone can cause major staining and discoloration.
I have tried every toothpaste under the sun. Ok, not EVERY, but a lot. By far my favorite is Crest 3D White Toothpaste Radiant Mint. I’ve found this toothpaste scrubs my teeth and maintains the whiteness better than other toothpaste I’ve used. I also love the gel consistency of it as well as the minty taste.
My next teeth whitening secret sidekick is my Sonicare toothbrush. I have the pretty light pink one pictured here,
The key to this toothbrush is always making sure you change the head when you need to. Yes, they’re expensive, but your teeth are sooo important to your overall health, so its an investment that’s worth it! And to keep them white and healthy, this toothbrush is key.
I first started using an electric toothbrush years ago but when I switched over to this toothbrush I immediately noticed the difference. The first use was not my favorite because my gums were slightly bleeding. Nothing major, just the small amount of blood when you spit in the sink. This is a sign that my old toothbrush wasn’t scrubbing as good, and in return wasn’t cleaning as well as this toothbrush.
After the first few uses, my teeth were no longer bleeding from the gums. The feeling of clean from this toothbrush is unreal! Almost like the feeling you get after leaving the dentist!
My last secret weapon for white teeth is Crest 3D White Whitestrips. I use these about once a month, no more than that. There are so many varieties of Crest Whitestrips but my favorite is the no-slip ones or the sensitive ones! All of them are great and work about the same I’ve noticed. I only leave them on for 30 min unless they are the one hour express. If you overuse them or leave them on too long, your teeth may get sensitive.
You may not notice a difference after one use, but if you keep with the regimen of once a month, you will see an overall whiter smile!
If you want to achieve white teeth from home, it takes time and dedication. Everyone can do it! Brushing, cleaning, regular dental check-ups, and Whitestrips are all you need to achieve a whiter, brighter smile!
Happy Whitening!
