There are multiple websites and apps that you can buy (and sell!) luxury items such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Fendi, Prada, etc. I’m here to tell you the websites I check and how to score a deal on a luxury item.
I know you want the list of websites. BUT, in order to use them correctly, you need to know my tips. First, if you really want to score a deal you need to check the websites often, very often. It may take time to find the item you want, for the price you can afford, but as long as you consistently check the websites, eventually, you will find a deal. Second, you have to be willing to buy used, or pre-owned. Some items will look like new, but they are not directly from the brand itself. They are from customers who purchased and changed their minds, or decided they did not want the item anymore. Lastly, you need to make sure you can authenticate the item. Depending on the brand, you may be able to authenticate it yourself based on the photos provided. Every brand has a different way that you can authenticate, so be sure to do your research. Not everyone on the internet selling items are honest.
Once you are ready to start searching for the perfect item for a lower cost, there are multiple websites to do so.
My personal favorite is an app or website called Poshmark. Poshmark is a marketplace for users to buy and sell their personal items. There are thousands of listings for high end brands. The best part, Poshmark will authenticate any item over $500. Meaning, if you purchase a Louis Vuitton bag and your not sure if its real or not, Poshmark will decide. Before the item is sent to you, it will be sent to Poshmark. If it’s not authentic, Poshmark will send it back to the seller and refund your money. If it is authentic, Poshmark will forward the item to you along with an authentication certificate. Remember, this is only for items over $500.
Another personal favorite of mine is eBay. eBay is another online marketplace/auction for sellers to list their items for sale. eBay is highly popular with tons of users around the world. For that reason, you need to be careful when purchasing high end brand items. Always make sure the seller has reviews that are positive. A seller with no reviews selling a high end item is usually a red flag. eBay sellers can choose whether to have the item “buy it now” or an auction. Usually I find the best deals on the “buy it now” option. If you are willing to bid back and forth with other users, auction listings would be fine for you!
Lastly, a website for those who are concerned about authenticity of a high end item, fashionphile.com is the perfect site for you! This website has only used authenticated items for sale. The items are priced based on the usage and condition of the item. Therefore, you can purchase items for a wide range of prices depending on the condition you want the item to be in.
The choice is yours! There are so many ways to find high end items for affordable prices. Do your research, and take your time, and you will find the perfect item! Enjoy!
