Before I started blogging I thought, that looks fun. It can’t be too hard, all you do is write and take photos.
Boy was I wrong.
Blogging is hard. When I mean hard, I mean so hard that sometimes you just want to quit. Just stop trying.
Today I’m sharing with you 3 things about blogging that makes it hard.Β
1. Time. Blogging is so time-consuming. I’m a full-time teacher outside of blogging, which makes it hard to have any extra time to work solely on my blog. The only time I have for shooting content is nights and weekends. And to be honest, after I get home from work I don’t feel like doing my hair and putting on a cute outfit to take photos in, I feel like throwing on some comfies and calling it a night. Not to mention, in order to get your blog out there, you need to push everything out on social media, which takes more time!
2. Social Media. When you have a blog, you can’t just have a blog and expect it to take off. You need outlets to get your content out there, that’s where social media comes into play. Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, they all play important roles in helping you grow your following and your blog. This takes a lot of time and energy to schedule posts, think of new content, edit photos, and then have the time to upload them. One way I save some time is by scheduling my Pinterest posts by using Tailwind.
3. Putting Yourself Out There. I have to say, I’ve come a long way since I first started my blog. It’s not easy to always be open about your life, allowing others to judge it. I still get slightly embarrassed when my mom or dad tells someone I’m a blogger. What I’ve learned over the past year of having my blog is that it’s ok if not everyone under the sun like you, or your blog. It’s ok. But I will say, I’ve met so many amazing ladies through blogging and putting myself out there. It’s hard, but it’s worth it!
If you have a blog, I’m sure you can relate to these struggles. And if you don’t have a blog, don’t let this discourage you from starting one! Everyone has their own journey with blogging, so go for it!
XOXO,
