This weekend we went on a little getaway to one of my favorite cities, Chicago!
The drive from Madison to Chicago is about 2.5 hours. We drove up on a Saturday morning which made traffic not as congested as a weekday.
When you travel to Chicago, location is everything. The St Clair Hotel has an amazing downtown Chicago location within walking distance to everything.
The St Clair Hotel has valet parking right outside the hotel’s front doors. It was so nice to just drop the car off and not have to deal with parking in Chicago.
Check-in was simple and the staff at St Clair were great!
We stayed on the 16th floor, which is the highest floor of the hotel. I loved looking out the windows at night and seeing all of the city lights.
Our hotel room was clean, bright, and had a modern feel. It came equipped with a microwave and mini-fridge, which was great for the leftover pizza we had from Giordano’s Pizza.
One of my favorite things about Chicago is the shopping, so when I look for a hotel, I want it to be close to Michigan Ave. There are so many hotels in the Chicago area but The St Clair Hotel is just a few steps away from Michigan Ave!
When your in Chicago, you do a lot of walking. We walked everywhere, luckily our hotel was so close to everything.
We walked up and down Michigan Ave to do some shopping, went to Sprinkles cupcakes, walked to the John Hancock building, saw the city from the 94th floor, ate at Giordano’s, Portillos, and the Grand Lux Cafe, and even made a Starbucks stop.
Our trip was short but we did a lot and loved seeing the city!
