Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. I love seeing new places around the country and the world. I also love seeing how other people live in other areas of the world and exploring other lifestyles.
Since I travel often, I have a routine when I pack. Of course, when you travel you always remember the really important things like your wallet, ID, and passport. But there are 5 other things that I consider equally important. These 5 items I make sure I never leave behind.
1. Dramamine– Whether your flying, driving or taking a train, Dramamine is a necessity. I’m somewhat sensitive when it comes to motion sickness so I always have this on hand whenever I’m traveling. Even if you’re not sensitive to motion sickness, you never know when it could hit you. Sometimes on vacation, you try something new like a boat ride, parasailing, off-roading, or anything else that moves! You never know when you could really need motion sickness medicine. I always purchase the “less drowsy” version of the Dramamine. It lasts all day and doesn’t make me tired.
2. Gum– Again, no matter how you’re traveling, gum is essential to have. Elevation changes can cause ear pain. For me especially, when I fly my ears always hurt. Gum helps alleviate the pressure in your ear canal.
3. Emergen C– When traveling, you run into a lot of public places. You know what comes along with public places? GERMS. I’m somewhat of a germ freak. I make sure to wash my hands often but sometimes you can’t prevent illnesses. Like when you’re stuck on a plane for hours with someone sneezing right behind you. That’s why I always remember to pack Emergen C. You can buy this in many forms like gummies, tablets, or the powder. It basically gives your immune system a boost which helps you fight off illnesses you might run into. The worst thing is to get sick or be sick while you’re supposed to be enjoying your vacation.
4. Portable Charger– I’ve learned that it’s not always easy to find an outlet when your traveling. Or be somewhere long enough to get your phone charged. That’s why a portable charger is a game-changer. On vacation, I like to take a lot of photos and videos, which drains your battery fast. A portable charger allows you to charge your phone no matter where you are. I always charge the portable charger up at night so in the morning its full and ready to go. The charger I have can charge a phone up to 5 times!
5. Cash- I know traveling with cash isn’t always the safest thing. But would you rather be stranded with a credit card that’s not working? You never know with technology and banks. You can put a travel alert on your card, but instead, I always like having some cash to fall back on in case I need it.
There you have it! The 5 things that no one should travel without. You know what the best part is about these 5 things? They all fit in your purse! Even if you don’t get car sick, or are usually immune to illness, it’s better to be safe than sorry! I hope you found this post useful. Stay awhile, check out my other posts!
